The School Day

Children in Years 1 to 6 should arrive at school at 8.45am and go directly to their classroom for "early bird maths" .

Entry to school is through the black gates on Duke Street. (Y5 and 6 children come in and exit through the main school office entrance).

For Y1 to Y6 the school day ends at 3.15pm. (32.5 hours per week, including early bird maths)

For Reception children, the school day starts at 8.45am and ends at 3.05am.  The school gate opens at 8.40am, to enable all reception children to be in the classroom on time for an 8.45am lesson start.

Children who arrive after the register is taken at 8.55am but before 9.25am are marked as late. Arrival after 9.25am is classified as an unauthorised absence.

To avoid congestion, we politely request that parents of Year 1 to Year 6 children do not come into school with their children at the start of the day. This is  in order for children to become independent and come into school on their own.

At the end of the school day, children will be led out of class by their class teachers at 3.15 pm.(3.05pm for Reception children)

Staff want to work closely with you and maintain good communications. If you wish to speak to your child’s teacher on an urgent matter, please try to make an appointment to do so at the end of the day, if possible. This will prevent delays to the start of the school day.
