The Big Reveal!
Here it is, the moment we have all been waiting for...... What was in the box?
Please welcome our Machine of Dreams, a book vending machine.
With some of the money raised from our Bog-Eyed Jog we have been able to purchase this machine to encourage and enhance a love of books and reading here at Duke Street Primary School.
Tomorrow, your child will bring home their reading books complete with a stamp card. When they read at home they will receive a stamp on their card as has happened in previous years. Please note, only 1 stamp per day will be given. If your child reads more than once a day they will still collect 5 House points for each read.
When they have collected 60 stamps they will receive a golden token during Good News Assembly to put in the machine to get a book that they can take home and keep!
Reading is so important in many areas, so we would really appreciate your support in reading with your child as often as you can.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank people who have made this possible. To you and your children a huge thanks for your amazing support with the Bog-Eyed Jog. Lucia Taylor, Asda community champion who kindly donated some books for the machine and to everyone else who donated books.
