Reading Eggs Competition

Competition!

We are running a Reading Eggs (EYFS / KS1) / Reading Eggspress (KS2) competition this half term for ALL children to take part in.

It’s great to hear that many of the children are really enjoying this online scheme and we are keen for all pupils to access Reading Eggs /Reading Eggspress on a regular basis.

As we still ask that EVERY children reads a minimum of three times every week, Reading Eggs / Reading Eggspress is a great way to get children engaged with reading as there are so many other fun English based activities for them to enjoy also. The more a child reads, the more eggs they gain. When a children earns a certain number of eggs, they are then rewarded in EYFS and KS1, bronze, silver and gold certificates and in KS2 bronze, silver and gold trophies.

We monitor this at school and can identify children who are accessing reading eggs on a regular basis- identifying how many eggs, certificates or trophies they have earnt so far and those children who are not accessing Reading Eggs / Reading Eggspress at all.

We are going to track carefully this half term, the number of children receiving bronze, silver and gold awards and we are holding a competition to identify the child / children in EYFS / KS1 who earns the most gold certificates and the child / children in KS2 who earns the most trophies.

Please support your child with this and encourage them to use Reading Eggs / Reading Eggspress on a regular basis, ideally daily. Even if only 15-20 minutes at a time, this will have a positive impact of your child’s reading progress.

Please continue to read the home school reading book, sent home on a Monday and returned on a Thursday and continue to log all reading (home reading books and access to Reading Eggs / Reading Eggspress) on Seesaw as this helps track who has / hasn’t read x3 weekly.

The closing date for the competition is Monday 14th December so that the winners can be announced and rewards given before we finish for Christmas on Friday 18th December.

Thank you in anticipation for your support with this competition!
