We have lots of fun and exciting activities planned next week in the build up to World Book Day, next Thursday 5th March.
A reminder to parents / grandparents that you are invited to come into school on Monday 2nd March, 9.15-9.45 to share your own favourite book from your childhood. If you prefer to read a story from the classroom, that's fine too.
On Tuesday, storyteller and author Gemma Lees will be coming in to visit the children in reception and Key Stage One. Gemma will be sharing her book 'Ethan Elephant and Leno Lion' before doing 'Creative Character' workshops with the children in Years 1 and 2.
On Wednesday, the selected 22 children will be visiting the Ebb and Flo bookshop in Chorley. They will have the opportunity to look at a range of new books before choosing their World Book Day book which they can take home with them.
Thursday is the Book Eyed Jog. Please remember to send children into school dressed as a character from a book. A reminder re getting sponsors for this event also. All money raised will be used to purchase story sacks in reception and top up reading resources throughout school.
Throughout the week, the children will be mixing with other classes to share their own favourite story and each class will be doing a class project to help jazz up and add further resources to the reading areas in classrooms.
